The method involves receiving a digital document in a format by a server (6), and selecting a security policy including a security regulation defining a digital printing pattern on the digital document. A data set is generated by applying optical character recognition to the digital document, and the digital printing pattern of the selected security policy is correlated with the generated data set. An indicator of conformity between the selected security policy and a security level of the digital document is generated based on the obtained correlation. An independent claim is also included for a system for management of the application of a security policy for a document to be printed within a communication network.
