According to the present invention, a vertical type semi-continuous casting equipment comprises: a mold into an inner space of which molten metal is introduced, casts a cast-piece by cooling the molten metal; a stool which rises and drops, and drops while supporting a lower part of the cast-piece cast in a mold to pull out the cast-piece from the mold in a state of being vertical to the ground surface; and a rotating device installed to a side of at least one of the mold and the stool, supporting the cast-piece in a state of being vertical to the ground surface by rotating the cast-piece pulled out from the mold to a top part of the cast-piece cooled on an ending period of casting through a dropping movement of the stool to allow the top part of the cast-piece to face the ground surface. According to the embodiments of the present invention, a pressing force is generated in a reverse direction of gravitation on the end part or the top part of the cast-piece. The end part of the cast-piece which comprises the top part of the cast-piece is not yet solidified; a portion not solidified will be pressed or compacted by the pressing force applied to the end part or the top part of the cast-piece in a reverse gravitational direction; and accordingly, the length of the portion not solidified will be shortened. As such, the length of the portion with a defect of a pipe by molten metal which is not solidified will be shortened on the end part of the cast-piece when compared with before, and the length of the cast-piece to cut will be shortened, thus improving a yielding percentage. |
