摘要 The present invention relates to a shift control system and a method thereof. The shift control system comprises an acceleration pedal detection module and a control part. The acceleration pedal detection module detects an operation state of an acceleration pedal. The control parts detects a kick down request based on the operation state of the acceleration pedal and controls coupling of an engine clutch and a performance time point of a kick down shift by comparing a first power transfer force in a case where the engine clutch of a transmission is coupled after performing the kick down shift and a second power transfer force in a case where the kick down shift is performed after coupling the engine clutch when the kick down request is generated when changing a drive mode from an electric vehicle mode to a hybrid electric vehicle mode. According to the present invention, kick down responsibility in the hybrid vehicle can be improved.
