PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite surgical device with a self-reinforced structure.SOLUTION: The composite surgical device comprises: a tissue fixation implant 28 made of a preform containing a thermoplastic resin, wherein the preform having a molecular orientation which can impart a self-reinforcement for increasing the strength of the tissue fixation implant at least in one of the torsional and tensile directions; and a protruding member integrally formed with the tissue fixation implant, wherein the protruding member is affixed to the preform in a thermoforming process under pressure and temperature higher than the glass transition temperature Tg and lower than the melting temperature Tm of the thermoplastic material. At least a part of the molecular orientation which can impart self-reinforcement in the preform is maintained after the thermoforming process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
