A gaming machine having at least a first and a second display located adjacent each other, and at least one speaker, a symbol selector selects symbols for positioning in respective ones of a plurality of first and second symbol positions, said first symbol positions being displayed in a gaming area of said first display; an outcome evaluator monitors said selection and determines when a trigger condition is satisfied; in response to said trigger condition being satisfied, triggers an event in which said controller selects: 1) one of a plurality of music tracks to be played through said speaker, each music track having at least one characteristic; and 2) a number of second symbol positions to be displayed on said second display; wherein the number of second symbol positions selected for display on said second display is determined at least in part by said at least one characteristic.

1. A gaming machine having at least a first and a second display located adjacent each other, and at least one speaker, said gaming machine comprising:
a symbol selector for selecting a plurality of symbols for positioning in respective ones of a plurality of first and second symbol positions, wherein said first symbol positions are displayed in a gaming area of said first display; an outcome evaluator for monitoring said selection and determining when at least one trigger condition is satisfied; in response to said trigger condition being satisfied, triggering an event in which said controller is configured to select:
1) one of a plurality of music tracks to be played through said speaker, each music track having at least one characteristic; and2) a number of second symbol positions to be displayed on said second display;wherein the number of second symbol positions selected for display on said second display is determined at least in part by said at least one characteristic.
