PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an α-olefin oligomer that can reduce effectively the mixing of catalyst-derived metal components into the α-olefin oligomer.SOLUTION: A method for producing an α-olefin oligomer includes: polymerizing in the presence of a catalyst one or more α-olefins having 6 to 20 carbon atoms to produce an α-olefin oligomer; and passing a reaction solution containing the α-olefin oligomer through a bag filter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
