The invention relates to fastener driving tools and to the problem of installers making sure that each fastening result is a “hit” to effectively secure a panel, for example, in place. A successful fastening result may be a fastener which is driven correctly into a framing stud. Ensuring a successful result avoids wasted effort and wasted materials. The present invention provides a fastener driving tool with a controller configured to receive a signal and configured to indicate a fastening result based on the signal.
