The invention relates to a method for fitting a connecting ring of a cone connector used in hydraulic systems, as well as a fitting tool to be used in the method. Said cone connector comprises a connector body (1), a tightening nut (2) and a connecting ring (3) with internal teeth (6) to be fitted on a pipe (4) to be connected by means of the cone connector. The method comprises the steps of: placing a connecting ring (3) on the pipe (4) near the pipe end (7); placing a fitting tool (5) over the connecting ring (3); applying a radial force to the connecting ring (3) by the fitting tool (5) to crimp the connecting ring (3) so that the teeth (6) of the connecting ring (3) bite into the pipe wall (8). |
