Disclosed is an electronic cigarette (60) with a heater (14) which vaporizes liquid material to produce a vapour. The cigarette has a mouth-end insert (8) including at least two diverging outlets (24) which are located at the end of off-axis passages, and an air flow diverter means for preventing incoming air from reducing vapour output due to cooling of the heater during puff cycles. The air flow diverter means is at least partially disposed about the heater (14).
