The present invention relates to a wound dressing composition and a wound dressing material. According to the present invention, provided is a wound dressing material, having effects in treating the wound and excellent sustained release properties of antimicrobial materials, capable of maintaining antimicrobial activities for the wounded region of the skin of a patient for a long period of time, and having no skin irritation with respect to various skin types. The wound dressing composition comprises less than or equal to 20 wt% of a ginseng extract, with respect to the total weight of the composition.
