PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide selective antagonists for use in the treatment and/or prevention of vestibular disorders such as vertigo, Meniere's disease and inner ear inflammation, as well as a gene expression inhibitor and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the antagonist and the gene expression inhibitor.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a selective histamine H4 receptor antagonist selected from the group consisting of small organic molecules, antibodies and aptamers, a histamine H4 receptor gene expression inhibitor selected from the group consisting of antisense RNA or DNA molecules, small molecular interfering RNA (siRNA) and ribozymes, as well as a pharmaceutical composition comprising the antagonist and the gene expression inhibitor. As the selective H4 receptor antagonists, 1-[(5-chloro-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)carbonyl]-4-methylpiperazine, 1-[(5-chloro-1H-indol-2-yl)carbonyl]-4-methylpiperazine etc. are preferred.
