An array substrate, manufacturing method thereof, and display device, for eliminating the problem of a poor white mura produced in a cell process; the manufacturing method comprises the steps of: forming a display region (AA) and a non-display region on a substrate (01); the non-display region is provided with a circuit binding region (21) therein; forming an alignment film (10) in the display region (AA) via a patterning process; forming via a patterning process a transparent protection layer (30) at least in a part other than the circuit binding region (21) in the non-display region; and forming via a friction stamping process multiple patterns arranged to have the same orientation on the surface of the alignment film (10), for arranging liquid crystal molecules in a liquid crystal layer in order; the surface height of the transparent protection layer (30) is less than or equal to the surface height of the alignment film (10).
