In this multi-core fibre (1), a plurality of cores (5) are arranged at a prescribed interval, and the peripheries thereof are covered by a cladding (3) having a lower refractive index than the plurality of cores. A resin coating (7) is formed on the outer periphery of the cladding (3). A coloured section (9) is formed on a section of the outer surface of the resin coating (7) in the peripheral direction. The coloured section (9) is formed continuously along the length direction of the multi-core fibre (1). In a multi-core fibre (1) cross section orthogonal to the length direction, the position of a specific core (5) and the peripheral position where the coloured section (9) is formed are substantially constant along the length direction of the multi-core fibre (1). In other words, in the multi-core fibre (1) cross section orthogonal to the length direction, the position of the specific core (5) and the position where the coloured section (9) is formed are substantially constant along the length direction of the multi-core fibre (1). |
