Disclosed are an alignment device and an aligning method, which are used for enabling, when in a manual pressing mode, edge connectors (1) of a soft printed circuit board to be accurately aligned with electrodes (2) of a substrate to be aligned. The alignment device comprises a light adjusting member (4) and a light source (3) provided on one side of the light adjusting member (4), wherein the light adjusting member (4) comprises a plurality of light shielding regions (41) and light-transmitting regions (42) alternatively arranged in the length direction thereof, the shapes of the plurality of light-transmitting regions (42) are the same as those of the plurality of electrodes (2) on the substrate to be aligned, and the positions between the plurality of light-transmitting regions (42) are corresponding to the positions between the plurality of electrodes (2) on the substrate to be aligned.
