The present invention refers to a process for producing aspart insulin with high efficiency and excellent yield, by means of a biotechnological process comprising transforming a Pichia pastoris yeast strain with vectors encoding an aspart insulin precursor, cultivating a recombinant strain, separating the aspart insulin precursor and enzymatically digesting said precursor into mature aspart insulin with further puriying. The invention also refers to a DNA construct and expression cassettes used in the claimed process for obtaining aspart insulin. |
