The present invention relates to a filter candle element (1) for removing dust from industrial gases, having improved stability properties and environmental compatibility properties. Said filter candle element (1) comprises a filter body composed of inorganic fibers (5) and a mineral additive (6) attached to the inorganic fibers (5). The mineral additive (6) preferably comprises zeolite. A further aspect of the invention relates to a method for producing a filter candle element (1) for removing dust from industrial gases. The method comprises the following steps: producing a slurry comprising inorganic fibers (5) and a mineral additive (6); suctioning the slurry onto an absorbent core to form the filter candle element (1); drying the formed filter candle element (1).
