An apparatus in accordance with one example includes a battery module in a dual in-line memory module (DIMM) form factor. The apparatus comprises a printed circuit board (PCB) including a plurality of DIMM sockets to receive the backup power supply module and a plurality of DlMMs. The battery module is insertable in a DIMM slot of a host device to provide backup power to a plurality of loads of the host device.
