PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and an image display method for providing high display quality.SOLUTION: An image display device 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a projector 20 that emits image display light L1 polarized to a predetermined polarization state to project an image according to an image signal; a screen 50 on which the image display light from the projector 20 is formed into an intermediate image; and a polarizing plate 51 that is arranged on a light path between the projector 20 and screen 50 to transmit light according to the polarization state of the incident light. The polarizing plate 51 is arranged so that at least a part of the light path of the light reflected on the polarizing plate 51 does not coincide with a light path of light constituting a virtual image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
