PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce collision noise generated during operation in an electromagnetic suction valve disposed on a high-pressure fuel supply pump.SOLUTION: A mass of a member that collides due to magnetic attraction force is decreased so as to reduce generated sound.EFFECT: The sound generated in collision of a core and an anchor due to magnetic attraction force depends on a magnitude of kinematic energy of a movable portion. The kinematic energy consumed by the collision is the kinematic energy of the anchor alone. As the kinematic energy of a rod is absorbed by a spring and does not contribute to sound, the energy during collision of the anchor and the core can be reduced and the generation of sound can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
