PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED lighting device ensuring a wider range contributing to the illumination of a light-emitting unit.SOLUTION: An LED lighting device comprises: a long LED substrate 27 on which LED elements are mounted; a translucent cover 71 permeating light emitted from the LED element; and a heat sink 2 having a long flat portion and side portions provided to rise on the side opposite to the side on which the LED elements are mounted from both ends of the flat portion in a short length direction thereof. The translucent cover 71 has side plate portions, extension portions extending from end regions located near the flat portion of the heat sink 2 generally in a perpendicular direction to the side plate portions, sidewall portions extending from end regions of the respective extension portions opposite to the side plate portion side to sides in a light irradiation direction and opposite to the side plate portions, a swollen portion connecting the end regions of the respective sidewall portions opposite to the extension portions and swollen in the light irradiation direction, and bent portions of the side plate portions, the bent portions bent from the end regions located opposite to the flat portion of the heat sink 2 inward in the short length direction of the flat portion.
