The present invention relates to a device and to a method for drying a workpiece, in particular a car body component comprising at least in part a coating consisting of an anti-corrosion material, an enamel, an acoustic insulation material, an adhesive or a sealing compound, by means of an IR radiator (infrared radiator) spaced apart from the workpiece. In order to provide a device and a method that prevent droplets of coating from falling on the IR radiator, a transparent anti-droplet protection means is arranged between the workpiece and the IR radiator, allowing the IR radiator to be positioned in any desired way relative to the workpiece, without any risk of becoming dirty. |
