The present invention relates to a surface light source module which allows light of high luminous flux to enter through a plurality of flexible light guide lines connected to one side of a light emitting sheet to facilitate thickness reduction and curved shape formation, and a liquid crystal display having the same. According to the present invention, the surface light source module comprises: a light emitting sheet to emit light distributed in an area on one side of a plate-shaped light guide sheet by internal total reflection to a light exit surface of an upper surface thereof; a plurality of light guide lines wherein an area on the other side of the light guide sheet connected to the light emitting sheet is cut into a plurality of lines having a prescribed width; and an LED light source which has recesses into which ends of the light guide lines are inserted, and emits light into light entering surfaces of sides of the light guide lines inserted into the recesses. The light emitted into the light entering surfaces of the light guide lines from the LED light source is transmitted to the light emitting sheet through the light guide lines to allow the light to exit through the light exit surface of the light emitting sheet. |
