A liquefied gas storage vessel is constructed of closed pore cellular material 10 without an inner or outer metal shell. Suitable materials include expanded rubber, expanded polystyrene and expanded polyvinylchloride. The vessel is moulded from the material in a minimum number of sections bonded together and the inner and outer surfaces are covered with resin impregnated glasscloth 11, 12. A strengthening hoop 18 of mild steel may be provided together with a filling and emptying tube 13, a drain 14 and relief valve 16. |
