Provided is an information providing device for a vehicle, which device can suppress an increase in cost of a vehicle-mounted device. The present invention includes: a vehicle-mounted device 102 having a first control means 202 that operates a first display part 204 and an audio-information provision means 205; and an external device 103 having a second control means 252 that outputs outside-vehicle information to the first control means 202. The first control means 202 outputs a control signal (activation signal) C3 to the second control means 252 according to various statuses of the vehicle, the second control means 252, upon receipt of the control signal C3, outputs to the first control means 202 outside-vehicle information (sound information) corresponding to the control signal C3, and the first control means 202 operates the audio-information provision means 205 such that the outside-vehicle information (opening sound) corresponding to the control signal C3 is output, as a blowing sound, from a blowing means B3 provided in the audio-information provision means 205. |
