PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patterned transparent conductor manufactured by mixing an additive to impart improved functions such as electrical conductivity and low visibility patterning.SOLUTION: A patterned transparent conductor 120 includes a substrate and a surface-embedded additive mesh 130 that is at least partially embedded into a surface 134 of a substrate 132 and localized adjacent to the surface 134 along the pattern so as to form a higher sheet conductance portion. The higher sheet conductance portion is laterally adjacent to a lower sheet conductance portion; and a sheet resistance in the lower sheet conductance portion is at least 100 times a sheet resistance in the higher sheet conductance portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
