The present invention relates to the technical field of image processing. Provided are an image magnification method, an image magnification apparatus and a display device. The method comprises: an image magnification apparatus acquires high-frequency components and low-frequency components of a source image; the image magnification apparatus conducts pixel interpolation on the low-frequency components of the source image by using a first interpolation algorithm so as to obtain low-frequency sub-images; the image magnification apparatus conducts pixel interpolation on the high-frequency components of the source image by using a second interpolation algorithm so as to obtain high-frequency sub-images; and the image magnification apparatus fuses the low-frequency sub-images and the high-frequency sub-images to obtain fusion result images, wherein the first interpolation algorithm and the second interpolation algorithm are different so that the quality of the magnified image can be ensured while the calculation amount is reduced. The embodiments of this disclosure are used for image magnification.
