The present invention relates to a stereo camera and an operation method thereof. According to the present invention, the operation method of a stereo camera comprises the following steps: obtaining, by a first camera and a second camera, images in shutter schemes different from each other; extracting a certain area from the image obtained through the first camera; setting the same as an area of interest of the second camera based on position information of the certain area; and extracting three-dimensional information based on image information of the certain area and image information of the area of interest of the second camera. |
