PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measurement method for the contractile force of a cellular tissue which can measure the contractile force of a cellular tissue with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A holding fixture 20 having a holding face 20a and a plurality of shanks 21 is prepared. A substrate 10 having a pair of fitting portions 16 and engaging wall 12 is prepared. There are included the steps: of placing a liquid containing cells on the holding face by coming in contact with the shank to each of a pair of the holding fixtures spaced apart toward at least a given direction; of forming a first gel by gelling the liquid placed on each of the holding faces in pairs, and concurrently forming a second gel in a given shape connecting between the paired first gels prolonged toward the given direction by gelling the liquid containing the cells; of forming a cellular tissue MS prolonged toward the given direction by culturing at least the second gel; of fitting a pair of holding fixtures provided with the cellular tissue for a pair of fitting portions of the substrate; and of measuring the contractile force of the cellular tissue in accordance with the elastic deformation of the engaging wall by the force accompanied by the contractile of the cellular tissue.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
