Disclosed are ethoxylated primary alcohols (linear alcohol ethoxylates) and unrefined plant oils for a coating compositions. In particular a fertilizer composition with trace elements being applied to a fertilizer chip or granule with the coating compositions. Examples of the vegetable oil includes sunflower oil, palm oil, soy bean oil, canola oil, olive oil, sesame seed oil or peanut oil.
