A method for providing shopping information comprises the following steps: receiving an image from a media play apparatus; detecting one or more first objects from the image; detecting one or more second objects from the image; comparing object recognition data stored in a database with the first objects and the second objects, and extracting each keyword of the first objects and the second objects; determining an object type priority between the first objects and the second objects; determining a keyword priority between each keyword of the first objects and the second objects; combining one or more among each keyword of the first objects and the second objects based on the object type priority and the keyword priority; transmitting the combined keywords to a shopping information searching server; and receiving a shopping information searching result from the shopping information searching server.
