PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reading method enabling the reliable reading of a barcode or two-dimensional code.SOLUTION: A reading method for reading a bar code 5 or two-dimensional code formed on a glossy surface uses a reading device 30 comprising a reading unit 6 for reading information from the barcode 5 or two-dimensional code, and an illumination unit 7 for radiating light to the barcode 5 or two-dimensional code from the reading unit 6 side. A semi-light shielding plate 11 to reduce the intensity of reflected light produced by a surface, on which the barcode 5 or two-dimensional code is formed, reflecting light radiated by the illumination unit 7 is placed between the reading unit 6 and the barcode 5 or two-dimensional code. The reading unit 6 receives the reflected light that has passed through the semi-light shielding plate 11 and reads the barcode 5 or two-dimensional code.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
