[Class 142 (i)] (Also in Group XXXIV] Braking members B, D at each side of the drum A are carried by arms b, d on studs or shafts b<1>, d/ which are mounted in brackets b2, d<2> at one side of the drum and are interconnected at the other side by a rod E or by being mounted in a bracket or rail carrying the loom top shaft. The moving apart of the studs &c. when the brake is applied is thus prevented. The brakes are operated by arms b<5>, d<4> from a bell-crank lever G, the short arm g of which carries the pivot of the arm d<4> and is connected by a rod F and swivelling joint.f to the arm b<5>.</p> |
