[Problem] To allow a homogeneous fuel spray. [Solution] A nozzle hole 6 in a nozzle plate 3 is connected to a fuel injection opening 5 of a fuel injection device 1 via a swirl chamber 13 and a first and a second fuel guiding groove 18, 20 that open to the swirl chamber 13. The swirl chamber 13 is an elliptical recess and has the nozzle hole 6 formed in the center. The first fuel guiding groove 18 opens to one end side on the long axis 22 of the elliptical recess and the second fuel guiding groove 20 opens to the other end side on the long axis 22 of the elliptical recess. The first and the second fuel guiding grooves 18, 20 are formed so that the amount of fuel flowing into the swirl chamber 13 is the same. The same amount of fuel flows into the swirl chamber 13 from the first and the second fuel guiding groove 18, 20 and the fuel is simultaneously directed to the nozzle hole 6 while being swirled in the same direction in the swirl chamber 13. Thus, variations in the spray generated by way of the fuel from the nozzle hole 6 being injected are suppressed and a homogeneous fuel spray is made possible. |
