The present invention relates to an apparatus for automatically converting heterogeneous semantic roles. The apparatus for automatically converting heterogeneous semantic roles comprises: a correlation providing unit to provide a correlation between heterogeneous semantic roles; a corpus providing unit to provide a syntax cover attachment corpus to automatically convert the heterogeneous semantic roles; a word class separation unit to separate a word from the syntax cover attachment corpus; a similarity calculation unit to calculate a similarity between a word having a semantic role to be converted and a word having a semantic role of each conversion candidate; and a semantic role conversion unit to use the correlation between the heterogeneous semantic roles provided by the correlation providing unit to convert the semantic role to be converted into the semantic role of a mapped conversion candidate if the semantic role to be converted of the word separated by the word class separation unit and the semantic role of the conversion candidate are mapped in a one-to-one manner, and use the similarity calculated by the similarity calculation unit to convert the semantic role to be converted into any one semantic role of the conversion candidate among the semantic roles of the conversion candidates if the semantic role to be converted and the semantic role of the conversion candidate are not mapped in a one-to-one manner. Even if the heterogeneous semantic roles cannot be mapped in a one-to-one manner, the similarity can be used to automatically convert the heterogeneous semantic roles.
