One purpose of the present invention is to provide a sealing agent for liquid crystal display elements, which has excellent adhesion to conventional glass substrates and flexible substrates and does not cause display failure by retaining sufficient adhesive power even if a substrate is bent for curved display applications, while having a low possibility of contaminating liquid crystals. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide: a vertically conducting material which is obtained using the sealing agent for liquid crystal display elements; and a liquid crystal display element. The present invention is a sealing agent for liquid crystal display elements, which contains: a monofunctional polymerizable compound having one polymerizable functional group and one or more hydrogen-bonding functional groups in each molecule; a polymerizable compound having one or more polymerizable functional groups, a lactone ring-opened structure and/or an acrylonitrile-butadiene structure in each molecule; and a polymerization initiator and/or a thermal curing agent. |
