The present invention relates to an apparatus for compensating a tilt of an HUD image and a method thereof, which calculate a tilt of a vehicle when the vehicle tilts by a slope of a road, tilt an HUD image reversely as much as the tilt on the basis of the calculated tilt and display the reversely-tilted HUD image such that the horizontality of the HUD image may be maintained at all times. To this end, the apparatus for compensating the tilt of the HUD image according to the present invention comprises: a storage unit which stores a table for recording the tilt of the HUD image corresponding to the tilt of the vehicle; a tilt measuring unit which measures the tilt of the vehicle; a control unit which retrieves the tilt of the HUD image corresponding to the tilt of the vehicle measured by the tilt measuring unit, on the basis of the table; an HUD image compensating unit which compensates the tilt of the HUD image displayed on an HUD image display unit on the basis of the tilt retrieved by the control unit; and the HUD image display unit which displays the HUD image compensated by the HUD image compensating unit. |
