The invention relates to an elevator system comprising at least one elevator (24) and a control system (28) controlling the door of the elevator (24). In the invention, the landing door (20) comprises detector elements (22) for the determination of a maximum extent of opening of the landing door (20); the elevator car comprises means (26) for sensing the detector elements (22) moving with the landing door (20) when the landing door is being opened, and said means (26) have been arranged to send to the control system (28) a signal for stopping the opening movement of the landing door; and the control system (28) has been arranged to stop the opening of the landing door (20) in response to the signal received from said means (26). |
