<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a high strength die having excellent high temperature softening resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a high strength die, comprising: mechanically milling a mixed powder of a tool steel powder and an oxide powder, which contains, 0.1-3.0 mass% of C, 1.0-18.0 mass% of Cr, and 0.3-5.0 vol% of an oxide; then solidifying the resulting mixed powder by hot isostatic press; and machining the solidified material into a die face shape and performing quenching-tempering or performing quenching-tempering and machining the resulting material into a die face shape, when the pressure and the temperature during pressing are defined as P (MPa) and T(°C), respectively, the hot isostatic press is carried out under such conditions that P≤200, T≤1,100, and Log<SB POS="POST">10</SB>P≥-0.00135×T+3.40, preferably T≤1,050.
