The present disclosure is related with the use of Pachycereus marginatus stem extracts in cancer treatment, such as pancreatic, gastric, prostatic, breast, kidney, colon, lung, gallbladder, uterus, oral cavity, colorectal, bladder, hepatoma, brain tumors, lymphoma, and chronic and acute leukemias. Extracts from hexane, chloroform, methanol and methanol-water partition were used at concentrations in the range of 400-500 Ág/mL and showed the following higher cytotoxic activities against L5178Y-R murine lymphoma: 93%, 84.9%, 83.7%, and 82.1%, respectively. This endorses the potential of this plant’s extracts for use in neoplastic diseases. |
