摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the essential characteristics of an active material, e.g., the reaction resistance, the capacity maintenance rate, and the like, and to provide a manufacturing method of an electrode.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an electrode where an active material layer containing an active material and a binder is formed on a collector includes a step for preparing a composition for forming an active material layer containing an active material and a binder, a step for forming an active material layer by supplying a composition for forming an active material layer onto the collector, and a step for obtaining an electrode by compressing the active material layer thereby adjusting the density thereof. As the active material, the basic capacitance of an active material defined below is in the range of 0.1-0.16 F/g. When preparing a cell for evaluation where electrodes each including an active material layer, consisting of an active material and a binder and having predetermined characteristics, on the collector are disposed to face each other while being insulated from each other in a nonaqueous electrolyte, and AC impedance is measured, the real part component of the electric double layer capacity at a frequency of 0.1 Hz is the basic capacitance of the active material.
