The present disclosure refers to an aquifer to decrease the content of metals, sulfates and micro-organic contaminants in natural groundwater, or underground water infiltrated from the surface. The system comprises a container (1) of the material required for creating a reaction zone, (5) a feedline (3), (4) at least one main water well (6) and a pumping well (7), the feedline (3) being placed about the upper outer periphery of the container (1) and the main cesspool (6) being connected to a well pump (7) via a lower external flow provided with a control valve to maintain a predetermined level of water in the aquifer. The invention further relates to a method for purifying water. |
