The roller has a radial inner cylindrical tube piece (31) and two annular bearings (32) located radially outside the tube piece and spaced in an axial distance. A roller body (33) is located radially outside the annular bearings. The roller body is formed with a raceway and two flanged wheels (36). The roller is formed with an annular electric generator (4) located within a cavity (30) surrounded by the roller body and the annular bearings. The electric generator comprises an annular stator (41) with an induction coil (42) and a permanent magnet (43) movable against the stator.
