SELF-MODULATED COOLING ON TURBINE COMPONENTS

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for passively managing cooling air in a gas turbine engine (100). A cooling air supply line (510; 620; 720) may supply cooling air to a component (520; 800) in the gas turbine engine (100). A metering coupon (512; 612; 712; 820) may have a negative coefficient of thermal expansion. The metering coupon (512; 612; 712; 820) may allow more airflow through the metering coupon (512; 612; 712; 820) and through the component (520; 800) in response to an increase in temperature.
