PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording medium which enables the transfer sensitivity to be increased at a high-speed printing, and the amount of a dye used for a dye layer to be to decreased, and which can prevent the abnormal transfer at the printing even after the preservation under high temperature and high humidity and make the matting in a high density portion less.SOLUTION: The thermal transfer recording medium consists of a base material, a heat-resistant slipping layer formed on the one side, an undercoat layer formed on the another side and a dye layer. The undercoat layer contains, at least, a compound represented by following formula (1), a compound represented by following formula (2), a vinylpyrrolidone-vinyl caprolactam copolymer, a water-dispersable polyester excluding the vinylpyrrolidone-vinyl caprolactam copolymer and a water-soluble polymer, formula (1): Si(OR)(Ris CH, CHor CHOCH), formula (2): (RSi(OR))n (Ris an organic functional group, Ris CH, CHor CHOCH, n is the integer of 1-100). |
