System and method for the detection and the localisation of an isolation fault of a solar generator of a space craft

The system has an evaluation unit for evaluating adapted to evaluate currents circulating in respectively electric lines i.e. ground lines (Lm1, Lm2). A detection and location unit detects and locates an insulation defect of a solar generator (20) according to the evaluations of the currents circulating in the electric lines, where flaps of the solar generator are connected to the electric lines. Solar cells of each flap are organized in chains arranged in parallel, where each chain comprises the solar cells arranged in series. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for detecting and locating an insulation defect of a solar generator of spacecraft (2) a computer program comprising program code instructions to implement a method for detecting and locating an insulation defect of a solar generator of spacecraft.
