The present invention relates to a composite suction anchor for providing a foundation or mooring attachment in a soft sea bed including an open bottom portion, a closed top portion, and a side portion defining a first outer surface (23) with a substantially constant outer perimeter. The anchor includes at least two adjoining canister module segments (4, 5) with an inner surface (22) and an outer surface (23p, 23b, 23c). Each canister module segment (4, 5) includes at least a first and a second contact surface portion (23b, 23c) located on said outer surface (23p, 23b, 23c) on each side of an exposed outer surface portion (23p), joint with contact surfaces of at least one adjoining module segment. A canister module segment and a method for joining such segments is also disclosed. |
