The invention relates to a conical magnetic bearing for contact-free journaling a rotating body. The bearing includes a rotary component and a stationary component. The rotary component includes at least two conical elements (1, 2, 3) mechanically connected to each other in a fixed relationship. Each of said element (1, 2, 3) has at least one conical surface (11, 21a, 21b, 31) defining a respective axis (O-O) of the element (1, 2, 3), the axes (O-O) of the elements (1, 2, 3) being aligned with each other. At least one of said elements(1, 2, 3) is provided with magnets(12, 22a, 22b,32) at its conical surface (11, 21a, 21b, 31). The stationary component includes a conical winding arrangement (5, 6) adjacent each of said magnet-provided conical surfaces (11, 21a, 21b, 31), each said winding arrangement (5, 6) including at least two electric windings(52, 62) of different phases. According to the invention the electric winding arrangement (5, 6) is core-less and a reattached to a respective non-ferrous stationary support structure(51, 52) arranged to provide fixation of the respective winding arrangement (5, 6) in a defined position. Each winding arrangement (5, 6) consists of a plurality of conductors (52, 62) extending in a conical plane. Each conductor (52, 62) extends at an angle (ß) in relation to a projection of the cone axis on the conical plane, which angle (ß) is in the range of 1° to 89° at least during the major extension of the conductor (52, 62). The angle (ß) of a first (5) of said winding arrangements is in the opposite direction to said angle (ß) of a second of said winding arrangements. |
