Provided are a saw wheel and a saw wheel unit which are improved such that saw deviation hardly occurs even without necessity of applying tensioning processing. An upper saw wheel 5a includes, at an outer periphery, a rim portion 532 around which a band saw 3 is wound around, and rotates around a fixed shaft 52. The band saw 3 includes a teeth edge portion 31 formed of a plurality of saw teeth 31a laying side-by-side in a circumferential direction. In the upper wheel 5a, the rim portion 53 includes: a supporting surface 531 configured to support the band saw 3; an edge 532 provided at an end portion on at least one side of the rim portion in the axial direction of the fixed shaft 52 and configured to be contacted by the band saw 3 in a state where the teeth edge portion 31 is projected from the end portion; and a second portion 5332b and a wall portion 5331 which are disposed between the supporting surface 531 and the edge 532 and do not contact the band saw 3. |
