The present invention relates to a device and a method to analyze personal characteristics based on the measurement of blood pressure. According to the present invention, the device includes: a pressure detection sensor part detecting cuff pressure including an influence of a pulse wave; a pulse wave extracting part extracting a pulse wave signal of arteries from the cuff pressure detected from the pressure detection sensor part; a pulse wave amplitude detecting part dividing the pulse wave signal, extracted from the pulse wave extracting part, into multiple window sections, and detecting the highest amplitude and the lowest amplitude from each of the window sections; and a personal characteristic analyzing part analyzing personal characteristics of a subject by using data obtained by performing Fourier transform on the lowest amplitude or the lowest amplitude and the highest amplitude in each of the window sections, which are detected from the pulse wave amplitude detecting part. Therefore, personal characteristics are analyzed by using pulse wave information during the measurement of blood pressure. |
