<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray computed tomography apparatus that decreases the generation of a pile-up phenomenon without the increase of a heating value, size, and cost. <P>SOLUTION: The X-ray computed tomography apparatus 1 of the present embodiment includes: an X-ray generation section; an X-ray detector having two or more X-ray detecting elements detecting the X rays generated from the X-ray generation section and penetrating a subject; two or more counters counting the number of X rays based on the output from the two or more X-ray detecting elements, and being fewer than the number of two or more X-ray detecting elements; a connection change section disposed between two or more X-ray detecting elements and two or more counters, and switching the connection of two or more counters to two or more X-ray detecting elements; and a reconstruction section reconstructing a medical image based on the output from two or more counters. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
